~Volume 2:  Beyond Empty~

YOU

I struggle with my inner self

You resurrect me with your revelations

I listen to your revelations

You speak to me in metaphors

I question such and such metaphors

You answer in my rhetoric

I surrender to my rhetoric

You benedict me with your wisdom

I search for you in your wisdom

And at last you reveal my existence

RED WINE

Rich red glass of wine

So bitter sweet and warm

How it soothes the empty heart

And rekindles our friendship's charm

Rich red glass of wine

Un-yet consummate by your drink

Glass so close to your faraway lips

And so my heavy heart does sink

Rich red glass of wine

The bottle is drawing near

Rich red glass of wine

Still I await; year after year......

WE ARE LOST TOGETHER

I struggled, I bled, I burned

But I succeeded, I'm here at last

If only you could see me now

Upon the summit, high and vast

But you are not here anymore

To share this triumph with me

Only your kind soul remains

On the other side of the sea

I remember our cherished old times

How you taught me to persevere

To strive always for excellence

And boldly confront my fears

You, the one who watched me

Face defeat with self dignity

And diligently live my life

With grace, courage and humility

How I remember those summer days

Of endless talk and seamless thoughts

On life, truth and discovery

It was meaning beyond living we sought

Yes, we once did search for the key

And found our souls to connect

But now that you are gone

It will take much time to perfect

Perhaps you will never really return

From your far, far away home

But in my heart you are the one

I write and dedicate this poem

I WANT TO KNOW YOU

I want to know you

What you think, how you feel

I want to know you

Your mindful soul and how it heals

I want to know you

How you listen, what you reflect

I want to know you

Your hidden truths, and secrets neglect

I want to know you

How you judge, how you speak

I want to know you

Your noble deeds and care for the weak

I want to know you

How you live, what you believe

I want to know you

Your affirmations and what you've achieved

I want to know you

Each step that you take

I want to know you

How you give to humanity's sake

I want to know you

I want to understand

I want to know you

And reach and touch your hand

I want to know you

Your sorrows and your fears

I want to know you

And tell you I am always here

INEBRIATE ME

Inebriate me, inebriate me

With your softest whisper

And unspoken sorrows

A sip of warm spirits

Let's share this drink

Taste the sweet tingle

Lie here by the undulating waves

And set our spirits adrift to the sea

Inebriate me, inebriate me

Surrender to the dawn of loneliness

Stare into the vast endlessness

Sink into sorrow slumber

One more glass of this magic

To bury the shattered soul

A tender heart wounded

By the attack of winter's neglect

Inebriate me, inebriate me

Let me die...please, let me die

But see the day nature's doubts dissipate

Inhale the fresh spring air of ocean tears

Bathe in open arms of forgiveness

Fill my empty glass with life

My wounded arms tremble and raise

To say goodbye to the sadness of yesterday

And may our revelation meet again
